In the next few weeks, Billings' taxpayers will open their mailboxes to find a mail-in ballot for the School District #2 election. On the ballot will be a mill levy request for $840,000 dollars for Billings Public School's Elementary District. This money is important to the elementary school budget and will help offset staff cuts under consideration by School District #2. The Billings Chamber/CVB supports this levy, but at the same time is interested in shining light on the education funding system as a whole. The Chamber/CVB’s April Education NEWSMAKER Forum will offer insight on this issue.

Join us as we explore the process of education funding at the federal, state and local levels. Hear first-hand from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the state grade that Montana received for its education funding process and what could be done to improve it. This forum will also offer taxpayers the chance to learn more about how Billings Public Schools are funded as the deadline for the mail-in ballots approaches.
