Anyone else looking for ways to spread a little happiness? I think we can all agree that our social feeds have been a bit depressing and volatile lately. So, a group of NextGENners came up with the #sharethehappy campaign. And we want EVERYONE on board! Here’s how you can participate:

  1. Download the flyer that businesses (or anyone) can use in their efforts in engaging in the campaign. Feel free to customize it for your own use!
    • This graphic is generic to allow businesses or individuals to do whatever they like to #sharethehappy. Add your logo, or jot down a handwritten message – whatever works for you!
  2. Plan your #sharethehappy initiative. Here’s some ideas to get you started:
    • Billings365 intends to give out free coffees/drinks and allow the recipient to give another free one to a friend online.
    • The cards can be used to simply write a nice note for someone – kudos and the like.
    • Plug a parking meter and leave the flyer on the person’s windshield.
    • Going to a movie? Buy an extra ticket for the next patron and leave it attached to the flyer. (Or coffee, or lunch, or admission, or… you get the idea.)
    • Receive great service? Add a little extra to your tip. Or, leave the flyer for your server thanking them for their exceptional service and applauding them for #sharingthehappy
    • Thank your colleague’s/co-workers/staff/clients with the flyer.
    • Donate to a food drive, attaching your #sharethehappy flyer.
    • There are tons of ways to #sharethehappy. Look for one that fits your personality, time and budget here: https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/kindness-ideas
  3. Here’s the key – whatever you do, post about it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter – whatever you use. Snap a photo and post about what you’ve done and why using #sharethehappy. This is how we’ll start to change the current tone – by flooding our local newsfeeds with a lot more happy.
  4. Help spread the word! Personal emails to fellow community members encouraging them to get involved. We think a few personal emails/asks will go a long way in increasing participation.

That’s it. It’s easy. Thanks everyone. We sure feel happier already and are eager to see our community spread it around!
