The Chamber is pleased to offer a continuum of leadership and professional development opportunities for all ages and experience. Ms. Catie Hanser recently join the Billings Chamber with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. Ms. Hanser also holds the distinct honor of being a Youth Leadership Billings graduate.

As she reflects on her time spent in Youth Leadership Billings, she remembers it was the first in-person interview she ever had as a high school student.  Highlights from her program year were visits to the Montana Women’s Prison, the Montana Rescue Mission’s Women and Children’s Shelter and learning about locally owned businesses like City Brew.  Bonding with the group on the ropes course at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch was also memorable.

Now that she is out of college and working as a real estate agent in Billings, she shared she joined the Chamber partly because of her experience as a junior in high school. She attended a recent Membership Orientation and Collaborate meeting. “It is exciting to find out who else is a member to grow my network,” says Hanser. Chamber communications have been helpful to her to learn about what is happening in the business world. She anticipates becoming more involved in opportunities such as the Trails Committee.

Earlier this week, 44 students from Billings Skyview, Billings Senior, Billings West, Billings Central, Billings Christian, and Huntley Project high schools graduated from Youth Leadership Billings. This program began in 1989 and has nearly 1,000 alumni.

Applications for 2019 Youth Leadership Billings will be available August 2018. Applications for the adult Leadership Billings program are available here.
