Billings needs another professional sports team (hockey, football, basketball)

The main arteries (24th, Grand, Broadwater) need a facelift. I once saw Grand Ave. between 24th and 17th marketed as “The Shops on Grand.” If I were a visitor looking for the “shops” I would think I was lost. This stretch of Grand Ave. is littered with casinos, pawnshops, dilapidated buildings and signs fighting for your attention. Landscaping would be nice. Awnings would help. I’d love to see stricter zoning/design regulations on businesses so the overall aesthetic can slowly be upgraded. Can casinos be restricted to a certain part of town, or at least have their signage be more understated/less neon? We must continue to REVITALIZE, REDEVELOP or REMOVE what’s less good about Billings if we want to RETAIN and RECRUIT qualified citizens and businesses to the area.

RIVERFRONT PARK! This could be our community's gem. One of the main attractions we have is the river, yet it seems that it is the most neglected, under utilized part of our city. Almost all of the parking and picnic area is around 2 ponds....there is nothing unique about ponds. There is no view of the greatest river in the US, for families that want to sit and picnic.

Billings should create, or allow neighborhoods to create, small (perhaps 1/4 acre) neighborhood dog parks such as exist in larger cities and Europe. With few amenities, such as benches, plastic bag dispenser, a low fence surrounding, etc., these areas can be great for neighborhood socializing, both for dogs and residents. Some of our strange little grassy areas, such as the triangular areas abutting No. 32nd Street, could be so used.

Provide park benches in the parks, especially along the sidewalks so that persons walking around the parks, e.g., with dogs, can sit and rest, watch activity in the park, socialize, etc. It will surprise most people to realize that our parks have zero park benches except in special places such as at wading pools, inside fenced areas.

How about a designated area for FOOD TRUCKS downtown during the day + weekend nights?

Mediate a mutually beneficial agreement between Rocky and SD2 so SD2 can sell Rimrock School and use the funds toward their new master plan.

A bike trail around the Billings Logsn Int'l Airport. This could easily be tied in with the existing trail on the rims, and possibly Alkali Creek as well.

Our airport should be remodeled and expanded to showcase Montana and Montana products. Our airport terminal is ugly. It says nothing about Billings or Montana. It is the rescue mission of airport terminals. We can and we must do better. Look at Bozeman. Look at Helena. It isn't that hard. We need a terminal with stone and wood that reflects that Billings is Montana's Trailhead. Our existing terminal doesn't do that. It is a great disappointment.

Billings should have an IMAX theater.
