The Billings Chamber and Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative are excited to announce the Youth in Ag Spotlight recipients! These spotlights are designed to celebrate and honor the outstanding contributions of our local youth in the dynamic field of agriculture. Recognizing the vital role that agriculture plays in our community, The Billings Chamber believes it’s essential to shine a light on the exceptional talents within this industry.
Agriculture plays a pivotal role in the prosperity and identity of the state of Montana as it serves as the backbone of our economy and sustains both rural and urban communities throughout the state. The agricultural industry not only generates economic revenue but also preserves the state’s cultural heritage and way of life. Montana’s farmers and ranchers are stewards of the land and this industry provides employment opportunities and fosters a sense of community, as generations of Montanans have been involved in the farming and ranching traditions that define our beautiful state.
To be eligible, youth showcase a robust connection to the agriculture industry, actively contribute to its advancements, and create a positive impact within their community. Additionally, they exhibit leadership qualities and character traits that mirror the essential attributes necessary for achieving success in the field of agriculture. These spotlights also serve as a reminder of the importance of nurturing young talents in agriculture. Their enthusiasm and commitment to the industry set an example for others to follow, and we, at the Billings Chamber, have no doubt their continued efforts will significantly contribute to the future of agriculture.
We are fortunate enough to recognize four young individuals: Lukas Arkell, Claire Murnin, Carlee Bomar, and Rex Koivu. These four youths have shown dedication to their family legacies, community, and the agriculture industry.
